Vex Cortex Voltage

I’m trying to hook up a air cannon to the vex cortex. The capacity of voltage for the Vex IQ is 7 volts. So will 18 volts into the Vex IQ blow up the vex cortex?

I’m really confused by your question. Are you asking if 18 volts into the VEX IQ Brain will fry it? If so, than yes, that will fry it.

Here is a basic schematic of the ERD Cortex, not sure how it compares to the IQ. You could check to see if those voltage regulators can handle 18 volts, but my guess is that it is a bad idea that will end with smoke.
