VEX EDR V5 Beta

Hello VEX Forum Users!

I am excited to announce that the application form to become a V5 beta tester is now open! We are looking for students, educators, programmers and robotics enthusiasts to test out our new VEX EDR Control System and Programming Software. To sign up, please visit VEX EDR V5 Beta Program Application.

Please fill out the listed questions by January 8, 2018 to be considered for participation in the program. By applying to be a beta tester, you agree to share your feedback through the VEX Forums and/or a Slack channel set up specifically for V5 Beta feedback.

Accepted applicants will be notified by January 12, and will receive more details on the beta program at that time.

We will be publicly announcing V5 at CES during the week of January 8th. There will be announcements on our web pages, forum and social media during the week as well.

If you have any questions about the beta program, please contact us at [email protected].

Thanks and I look forward to the community helping V5 become the best control system it can be.

Just sent mine in!

Same! Hopefully it is first come-first serve…

Me as well.

I hope to be a part of the program!

I was just reading through my answers when…
I hit the back button and lost it all.
Restarted and submitted now though.

Glad to see that team input is being evaluated for the new products!

Just out of interest what would happen if we put our email down wrong?

Fingers crossed!

BVT would love to help test the new system!

I’m in!

Totally in! Heck yeah V5! Now maybe they will make big motors like the ones in FTC, or perhaps even use LITHIUM ION BATTERIES!!!

14 for sure are already in and it’s only been 2 hours.

Motors like the ones in FTC would be awesome. Any upgrade at all from the 393 motors would still be great though.

Could you imagine robots that are as light as VEX ones being powered by a 14 v battery with 12 of those things? XD maybe there is a reason for the nerf gun motors we have to use, but DANG I love those motors. Plus, they have REALLY good IMEs

Just submitted my form! Vex taking feedback on this is awesome!!!

even better would be some brushless dc motors. imagine 12 of those with some good gearing.

They would have been nice for NBN tho…

that would just be scary

You could probably get so many RPMs that the flywheel(s) would shatter.
