VEX Email: May 28, 2010

Greetings VEX Community,

We hope things are calming down for you as summer approaches and the 2009-2010 VEX Clean Sweep season comes to a close. Thanks again to the more than 2,600 teams that competed this year and to the 400+ teams that participated at the 2010 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship, the biggest and best World Championship yet!

We are happy to announce that the 2011 VEX Robotics World Championship will be held April 28-30, 2011 at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Also, due to the huge growth in the number of middle school VRC Teams, the 2011 World Championship will feature a separate Middle School division, allowing us to crown the first-ever VRC Middle School World Champions. Judged awards will also be split, allowing us to honor middle and high school winners for each one. More information on the 2011 VEX Robotics World Championship will be available on the event page on RobotEvents.com in the coming months.

Stay tuned to vexrobotics.com and RobotEvents.com for more information on the 2011 VEX Robotics World Championship as it is released.

While we look forward to 2011, several VEX Round Up events are scheduled in the coming months (with the first official one being tomorrow in New Jersey.) Check RobotEvents.com for the most up-to-date listing of events as more are added every week.

We also have some updated information for the second-annual VEX Robotics All-Star Challenge, being held November 11-13, 2010 at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. We know lots of teams want to start planning now for events in the fall, so we have worked with Disney to get the event details set and posted early for all the teams wanting to attend this year. Disney and GET Travel are offering special hotel packages to teams that include Disney World Park Hopper Passes, airport shuttles, ground transportation and more – including a free team party Disney has added for all teams who take advantage of the special VEX team hotel packages. Registration for the All-Star Challenge is now open for the first 100 teams on the 2010 VEX Robotics All-Star Challenge event page. It’s going to be an incredible event with teams from many different countries – we can’t wait to see many of you there in November.

We are working hard to ensure VEX Round Up events around the world will be a great experience for all teams and wish you all the best for a great 2010-2011 VEX Robotics Competition season!

Best Regards,

The VEX Robotics Competition
