Now that it has been a year since the VEX Forum has moved to Discourse, what are some positive and/ or negative things that you have seen since the move to Discourse and what would you like to see change in the future?

One really nice thing about being older is a short memory. I don’t even remember what the forum was like before this instantiation. It seemed like a huge change at the time - but now I can’t remember it any other way!
I do like being able to heart things.

Ah yes, that forum software which had so much promise but remains in beta one year later…
If VEX didn’t switch to Discourse, we’d probably still be using esoTalk today.

Pros:
- Profile pages
- Dark theme
- Hearts
- Emojis!
- Removal of signatures
- Less buggy
- You cant see the thread a user is currenty watching
- Much more modern
- Wiki posts
- Polls
- Thread locking after specific date
- People can unofficially respond to official topics before an official response comes.
- Discourse gives people more of a voice
