My team is think of investing in a VEX Gyroscope, but I don’t understand what it is and how it could benefit our team. Could someone one please explain this to me?

The short answer is that it helps you determine how much you have rotated around a particular axis, I suspect that most will use it to know which way the robot is pointing during autonomous, although there are other uses as well.

They can be quite tricky to use and it’s a shame that VEX did not provide more functionality, ie. accelerometer built in and perhaps more than 1 axis of detection.
