The next VEX IQ Game (after Squared Away) will be played on a 6 foot x 8 foot field.
The GDC has already finalized the design of the 2021 game to play on a 6’x8’ field.
They will sell expansion kits to add the floor and wall pieces to your 4’x8’ fields to up-size them.

This is pretty interesting. I wonder if it points to another major change, like more robots on the field or larger expansion limits.

They said the extra space was needed to have more complex games to be able to push teams to have a need for, and start using more sensors.
Yep, lots of my places will be crunched for space that stays up all the time for the roboteers to practice on.
And our events will be a little more scrunched. But not until the 2020-21 season so there is lots of time for you to get that basement expansion you were thinking about
