Vex IQ Gen 1 Brain Firmware Update Issue

We have a Vex IQ Gen 1 brain. Last week the brain told us to update the firmware, so we ran the update using the VexOS Utility (build 2020/8/14.11). We connected everything and ran the update. It installed the 2.1.5.2b firmware. Now the brain will connect to the computer, but the brain icon only turns orange. It displays the ID and the current firmware, but it will not allow the team to upload their programs or configure the controller.

The Vex website says the current firmware update is supposed to be 2.2.1. However, I cannot get that firmware to install on the Gen 1 brain.

Any suggestions on how to get the brain to update and connect to the computer?

Try a full factory reset (hold both arrow keys down and turn the unit on). It will then let you reload the right firmware (which should be 2.2.1)

I did the factory reset with the VEXos and it installed the latest firmware update of 2.2.1.

This seems to have fixed my problem.
