Vex IQ Gen 2 Brains

I have a team who is trying to program their gen 2 brain. They had a working program for the yellow mechanism, and then they tried another program for the blue mechanisms and everything is freezing up. We have to take the battery out just to turn off the brain. We’re really frustrated. I think we should delete a program from the brain, but I have no idea how to do that. Please help!

Can you post the program file here and I will take a look.

If the IQ gen 2 brain is on the latest version of firmware (1.0.6), you can delete a single program by selecting it in the programs screen, then using the right arrow key to select the very last tab on the program run screen, the one that looks like a trash can.

However, it’s unlikely that the “yellow” program would have any effect on any other program loaded onto the brain.

I think this is it.
Thank you so much!

ok, so what happens ?

does the touchled start as red ?
does it turn green when touched ?
does the motor start to turn ?

when does the brain stop responding ?

The touch LED light works and then the brain stops responding.
When my student tries to run another program, it won’t let him select that other program and it won’t even turn off without removing the battery. It’s like the whole thing crashes.

Well, assuming the brain is fully updated, that sounds like a hardware fault. Try swapping the brain for another one (or just setup the touchled and motors on another brain).

Thanks. I might see if Vex can replace it because this is a brand new brain and we don’t have extra :face_with_diagonal_mouth.
