Vex Iq to v5rc

I am a student who has done vex iq robotics competition for many years and I am pretty familiar with it. Next year I will be doing v5rc. Is there anything I need to know/tips for the change? What are the differences? Also, how do the competitions work? What tools/parts should we get? Any tips for funding?

Do y’all have any tips for transitioning from Vex IQ to VRC, or any tips on how to make it on the team?

So next year I will start Vex VRC instead of Vex IQ. I’ve seen some robots and they look super cool and wayyy too smart for me. I love robotics tho, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have no idea what it’ll be like. And there is only one definite spot open for next year and I’m pretty sure someone else will get it (his brothers in robotics and he’s been doing in for like 4-5 years and he’s a genius soo). Transition from IQ -----> VRC

Motivate the upcoming freshmen to do some research on their own. The first month I was ever in robotics I was constantly watching vex robot reveals and worlds matches from previous years. This helped to become one of the best builders in my club and prepared our team for great success.
