Vex iq wheels turning by themselves

When we use the drive code we coded for our robot, the left front wheel turns without us doing anything. If we use the default drive code, the right front wheel does the same. We currently think our supports may be damaged since it worked before. The shooting mechanism is leaning back a bit and dragging on the floor. We have normal wheels on the front and Omni wheels on the back.

Start by calibrating the controller. If it is still spinning on it’s own, please post your code.

By the way, our robot was working perfectly fine last meeting.

The fact that it happens with the default code indicates that it isn’t a code issue.

Could be both the controllers needed to be calibrated and there is a code issue. So I was trying to avoid a “Calibrated, default drive program works but our code still drifts”, “Send the code”, -posts code- cycle.

Lots of times fixing one problem uncovers another. Also sometimes fixing one problem fixes others. I try to teach the “look forward to other problems - look back to see common problems” Recently it’s been a spate of “robot won’t shoot” that the fix starts with "OK, lets square the frame up, then reset the location of the choo-choo and then fix that the arms are too long.

Others call this “Peel the onion” pull the easy (skin layers off) before trying to chop the harder insides.

Thanks for making your point!
