VEX Joystick not blinking red and green when calibrating?

Hi VEX Forums,

I’m calibrating my robot because the motors keep spinning in my RobotC code whenever I link the motor code to the vexRT joystick channels.

Here is the Calibration Setup guide I’m using: http://www.education.rec.ri.cmu.edu/products/teaching_robotc_cortex/reference/VEXnet_joystick_calibration.pdf

However, the calibration is not working. When I follow the steps in the Calibration setup, the red and green lights don’t show up. I’m currently on step 3 of the calibration setup. I made sure I was following everything on there correctly, and I was.

Does anyone know why the red and green lights aren’t showing?

Thanks.

Make sure you update your joystick firmware ( http://link.vex.com/downloads/VEXnetUpgrade )

I was able to get blinking red and green instantly, make sure you are actually pressing 6U and not 5U and the config button is fully pressed down

Found my solution. We had the white vex net keys so they were not like the black vex net keys like the ones on the previous link I posted.

Here is a better guide:
