Love the registeration and event costs.
Love the team numbers (even better than FTC)
Great international events.
Great new kits.
Great Mech and Sensor new products (12 tooth metal gear, WOW!)
Sounds like IFI has a very promising year for next year. If they can do everything they say, VRC will be an amazing international competition.
When will the event location list come out?
When will some details about the college competition be released?
Awesome info John. As I said at CSUN, love what you guys are doing with Vex and how you’re fixing a lot of problems in my opinion. Can’t wait for the college challenge w/ Qwerk.
there’s always something brewing down in Texas. I like all of the new products and the pricing and great plan for team numbers. I’m gonna go talk to my teacher tomorrow about doing VEX once again next year.
Very interesting stuff. What I would like to hear more about though, is the competition available for college students, as I will be moving to Berry college in Rome, GA in the fall. If there is any chance more information can be released soon, that would be great so I could start gaging to see if there is any interest.
IFI has outdone them self. I would have been happy with just the metal 12 tooth gear, but the wifi, and all the other things they are introducing, are all very good. Vex is truly a robotics system with no equal.
“VEX “RCR” is a consumer product line that includes the VEXplorer kit and the future VEX Mini kit. RCR stands for Radio Control Robotics. RCR kits are non-programmable, typically use a single channel radio, and use motors without internal speed controllers.”
Great job to the VEX team for putting all the answers out in one orderly section. As a casual user of the VEX products, I have a few suggestions to help clarify to the community about the VEX competitions and product line.
Change the name of the “Vex Challenge” Competition to something unique i.e. " VexBotics, VexComp, VexFest "
Make a website for the Competition separate from Vex Robotics and Robot Events (put rules and event info, etc…)
Thank you to the IFI team, I think Vex is heading in the right direction and I look forward to the future competitions and challenges.
I’m extremely interested in the “Qwerk” microcontroller. From the picture it looks like it has 4 DC motor outputs? Will Vex be making new, bigger DC motors for this thing?
