I have 4 rollers for full voume (gears attached with rubber bands) for intake,
I attached them with several gears along a 2x20 plate to the side.
I want to know why rollers are spinning in different directions.
Two rollers are spinning in direction and the other two in the opposite direction.
I want them all to spin in the same direction so it can intake the blocks properly
Anyone know what the problem is/how to solve it?
Will send pictures if necessary.
If you have 2 gears next to each other, they will spin in opposite directions, try using sprockets instead of gears, or if you want to use gears, then space a gear between it
An even number of gears, including 0, between the 2 end gears will result in them spinning in opposite directions. Also as Penguin 1 said, use sprockets to link all 4 rollers together, as that guarantees that the rollers will spin in the same direction.
Let me jump in and clarify that they mean “Sprockets and chain”. I had a team with this problem, suggested using sprockets. They ripped the gears off and put sprockets in their place, meshing the teeth on the sprockets. “Mr Foster, we have the same problem with sprockets.”
Thanks for the pic!
Here is the issue in the green circle. Those two gears reverse the direction of the bottom two rollers.
Use 1 gear or an odd number of gears instead
