My team and I were making a robot similar to the newest caution tape
design, but we were struggling with keeping the balls on the conveyer, when we watched the caution tape video, they used thin black ropes to do it. I think I saw these in a hex bug kit a while back, but I can’t seem to find it. So, how do I get these parts? And are they legal?
I believe that the ropes are included in the IQ Gen 2 super kit, and that they are legal. Unfortunately, I don’t know of a good way to get them in a timely manner, as early orderers of the super kit are just getting it / haven’t gotten it yet, so if you order it now it’d probably take a few months to arrive. I would venture to say that you could substitute for another piece for the time being. Good luck!
You could loop together a few rubber bands to make a rope.
Rubber bands that are identical in length and thickness to those included in the VEX IQ product line (#32 & #64).

There are VIQC-legal ropes in various HEXBUG kits as well – Construction Zone and Crossbow 2.0 look to be the two kits currently in-stock with one or more ropes.
