I would just like to point out that I’ve had this issue since I got my phone way back in the beginning of June, and I would imagine was an issue on release. I personally don’t expect an update anytime considering the app hasn’t been updated since its release and DPI should be such an easy thing to fix with all of Android’s built in tools, which is really sad from a developer standpoint.
The app itself would likely have 5 stars if it wasn’t for the two reviews (mine and somebody else’s) complaining about the DPI glitch. I would email the developer, but quite frankly, if they haven’t fixed it thus far, I don’t think they will.
Sorry for the delay, we are actually looking into it and plan on releasing an update that fixes it. Trying to support all the screen sizes & densities isn’t as easy as Android advertises, especially with the constant release of new combinations. It’s trivial and “just works” when you’re only creating layouts with text, buttons, and other widgets. It gets more difficult when you’re overlaying text on top of custom graphics. That said, the approach that we took to support every screen size we initially was the wrong one; we’re currently trying to fix it the right way so this shouldn’t be a problem as new devices are released. Again, sorry for the delay, we’re working on it and will get it fixed.
As you can probably tell from the lack of a release, it’s going slowly. Every time you post, I forward it to the guy doing the graphics just to let him know that you’re still waiting. Unfortunately, it all comes down to priorities though.
No need to apologize, you have every right to keep asking.
You’re correct, I need each image at different resolutions in order to support multiple screen sizes, each at different densities. It sounds trivial, but in order to do it properly, it requires a handful of different combinations.
I’m guessing this isn’t going to happen. It doesn’t take 4 months to resize some images, no matter how complex Android device support purportedly is.
So anybody wanna make a third party scoring app? I would but I know there’s more experienced Android developers in the community; I don’t really do much w/ app development.
Perhaps Ruiqi and I could work together on something for Android and iOS. I’ve been working on another (VRC ;)) iOS app recently, and was planning on either adding a scoring page to it, or create a separate app for scoring.
