In FRC, I have had some “a little too coincidental” qual match-ups. For example, at an off-season event (it’s an off-season so it really doesn’t matter), my team and my sister team (973 and 973C) were pitted against the team that we had defeated on Einstien (equivalent to freedom hall finals) earlier that year and their sister team (254 and 254B). I’ve had some other fishy match-ups, but never anything that I think was deliberately to help any specific team, but more of to see who would win in a tough match-up between two really good teams.
They have to have some title bouts. Also, there should be a WV Rocks for vex
Do they have backup award winners for notebook? In case the selected team wins the competition they don’t have one team winning 5 awards.

The original kit produced by IFI, the parent company behind what is now VEX Robotics originally produced a kit with the name EduRobotics, hence EDR. The manufacturing rights were sold to RadioShack who gave it the trade name VEX. As far as I know it has no meaning beyond RadioShack’s marketing. When RadioShack found sales did not match projections, they sold the manufacturing rights back to IFI who retained the VEX name and Trademark. Not very exciting!
