Hello,
My team has recently attached the Vex Speaker to our robot to aid in debugging and just for fun during competition, but we can’t get it to sound even half as loud during the actual code as it does when you first turn on the Cortex.
We have the module at full volume both in the code and on the physical device and it’s still very quiet. Is there some secret we’re missing out on? It seems like some other teams are able to get it just as loud as during startup.
Although we wrote very simple code that didn’t have any issues, we tested the tutorial code as well to make sure the problem wasn’t in the code.
From my experience, audio files will be quiet. As for tones, the higher the frequency the louder it will be. The first time I did ghost busters and star wars, it was an octive to high (my teamates had to cover their ears until I turned the speaker off). Also remember that competitions are very loud, so if it is hard to hear in a quiet classroom, it can not be heard at a competition.
