Vex V5 Brain Won't Turn On

I just completed a firmware update for my brain, and after updating it completely refuses to turn on. No backlight on the screen or anything else. The USB port is also no longer recognized on my computer. The only indication anything is happening is the lights on the battery start when the power button is pressed. I know I might have to go through Vex Support, but in the interest of saving time, is there any way to reset the firmware through hardware? I’m happy to open up the brain to access something internally, I can’t seem to get the brain to boot off the sd card, but I might be going about that incorrectly. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks

What version were you on before the update ?
What version were you updating to ?
How old is the V5 brain ?

Not an available feature.

I’m not too sure about the original version, but I was updating to 1.1.2. Also not sure when the brain was purchased, but the mainboard says 2018, so I assume it can’t be much later than that.

If it was used in a competition it would have most likely been on the previous VexOS Version

You realize 1.1.3 is the latest vexos. How were you updating it ?

Well, depending on what you call the main board, I think that was probably the final version if the PCB anyway, but seems like it’s out of warranty one way or the other now (ie. you opened it up and potentially caused more damage)

Merely opening the product isn’t going to void the warranty, though of course damaging it while doing so would. From the sounds of it though the issue happened before the brain was opened, so either way there is likely a software problem here. Are there any methods to get the brain in a DFU mode to the point that a firmware image can be loaded on it? I know the SoC is supposed to support SD card boot, but I’m not sure is that’s implemented in the actual V5 brain hardware.

That’s why I said potentially caused damage, we now have no idea.

No

To be even able to make a guess at what happened I need to know the whole story.
was it a competition brain on a robot that was used all year, or was this a brain that was five years old and had not been used since 2019., or brand new out of the box. Was the update being done via VEXcode or some other means. Had there been some attempt to downgrade the brain. Did the battery die during the update.

when I see a comment like this, feels like its not just a typical customer, what files were put on the SD Card, why was that even a thought as VEX has never indicated anything like that was ever possible.
