Forum users,

Next week, ESPN2 will feature the 2016 VEX Robotics World Championship in a 1 hour long segment! Tune in Wednesday, July 20 at 9 p.m. est to relive key moments, matches, and team interviews from the event. This was a record year for VEX Worlds, and we can’t wait for the World’s Largest Robotics Competition to make its debut on national TV. We look forward to everyone watching!

Also, be sure to keep an eye on this thread as we will be announcing details for a special contest leading up to the first airing!

Please encourage friends and relatives to watch! If we have a good audience it will help get us back on TV after this event!

This is a great step forward for Vex! Soon, we get a large sponsorship

Ayyyyy! Def going to watch. Are there going to be any promotional activities for the broadcast? Like news spots or ads? I think getting the word out there is what’s really going to impact viewership, and to a greater extent, notoriety of vex robotics.

oh so that’s what ESPN was interviewing me about…
Me and My Teacher got interviewed by ESPN, look out for the Aussies
I can’t remember what i said though

@DRow is there an option for us Aussies to tune in too?

I assume you’ll have to do something similar to us in NZ. We have access to ESPN2 through Sky. So we’re going to set it up to record when it’s actually on (because it’ll be on at a stupid time), then watch at a reasonable time later.

That brings up a question: will it be published online to watch for free? Like on youtube or something? I’d hate to only be able to watch on my TV later on.

Will have to check that out

That would be good if they did that. I assume VEX will keep a copy for their advertising purposes.

Cable TV and free are words that don’t mix.
Jokes aside, you might be able to find in on a site that rhymes with “ryrit clay”

Those of you you don’t have cable, sling has ESPN2

Hey everyone,

This is a show you’re not going to want to miss. The producers and crew did a fabulous job capturing the essence and energy of the VEX Robotics Competition and VEX Worlds. This entire show is a great showcase of what all of you work so hard on. You’ll definitely want all your family and friends to see this show. Also the success of this show will be dependent on the entire community. The more people that tune in to watch, the more likely that ESPN will pick this up next year for more coverage!

Paul Copioli and I were recently in Chicago doing some final taping for the show. It was a pretty cool experience.

For our forum community, you’ll especially want to tune in because you’ll be seeing a lot of familiar names and faces.

If you want to share the news with your friends and family here are some social media links:

Awesome! Can’t wait to see it next week. Six days and counting.

Incredible job getting these guys to present Vex Worlds on ESPN!

I am so ready! This is a great promotion of vex that should inspire more people to get involved.

Hi Everyone,

In my original post for this thread, I hinted at a contest leading up to the premiere of VEX Worlds on ESPN2. In celebrating the release of this segment, we are giving away $250 in store credit to!

All you have to do is head over to and re-gram our ESPN2 post with ‪#‎VEXworlds‬ as your caption to be entered to win. (Be sure to follow us while you’re there if you haven’t already)

Second and third place will win a $100 and $50 gift card respectively to the VEX Robotics Merchandise Store. All winners will be announced on the day of the airing, next Wednesday, July 20.

Be sure to tune in, and good luck to all!

Awesome! I’m definitely going to watch!

What do you mean by “re-gram”. Do we repost it with the hashtag?

You can either take a screenshot of our post and post it yourself, or download a re-gram app and post through that!

Exciting news - sneak preview of the ‪#‎VEXworlds‬ ESPN special is now available from the REC Foundation, just visit:

And even better, the international community can view as well in on all international broadband players where ESPN2 is available, namely: Brazil, Spanish-Speaking Latin America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. These players are authenticated for ESPN subscribers only. Furthermore, it has been scheduled to broadcast on linear TV in the Pac Rim (Aus, NZ and Pacific Islands) on the following dates/times: 7/21 at 10pm ET and ESPN2 Pac Rim: 7/22 at 2am. Enjoy the preview and don’t forget to mark your calendars for the full show on July 20 at 9pm ET!

For countries where ESPN2 doesn’t exist ( :frowning: ), there are some live streams of the channel online on some extremely sketchy websites. I really don’t recommend using these sites, but if you do choose to investigate further you can use google and figure it out.
