You make good points but the recf providing just surgical masks and gloves and maybe even sprayable isopropyl alcohol could go a long way. If people want to have more protection they can buy better masks etc.
We donāt really know what kinds of medical advancements will happen in the short time before worlds. Coronavirus is also mostly only fatal to old people and very young children, and while there are some coaches and parents, most people at worlds are students. People who live with older parents or have regular contact with grandparents could refrain from going to worlds.

Yes. Canceling worlds is the smart thing to do.
The spread of the virus is something that no one can control. And is something that no one should be blamed for.
If worlds is canceled itās for the benefit of everyone. Yes, itās unfortunate, but itās better to be safe than sorry.
The fate of the Worlds had been sealed months ago when Chinese government choose to suppress information about an unseen virus, instead of taking it seriously and act on it without delay.
And then by the governments of every country on the virus path that didnāt understand science of how infection propagates and choose to ignore expertsā advice for weeks.
You cannot pretend that virus is not there and will go away if you close your eyes and ignore it.

In my opionon, I think that Vex worlds is probably unfortnatly going to be cancelled. First Robotics Competition has already been cancelled for the entire season. Schools here in Ontario are to be closed for 2 weeks after the break. The NHL, and the NBA have also been cancelled, if the Virus continues at the same pace, which it seems to be the sitation of the virus, vex worlds will almost certainly be cancelled, theyāve already cancelled autoshows, and other conferences around the world to combat Covid 19.
Look if worlds get cancelled make that be your determination to come back next year. Still try to get your robots in perfect shape. Always be ready. Just wait until an official message about worlds

worlds will be cancelled. I appreciate recf trying to continue it, but really itās unsafe to do so. And recf will probably follow suit with all the other large organizations cancelling all their events. Better to use this time to just work on your vex skills than trying to improve your bot for tower takeover.
And when itās your last season and only season to properly compete at worlds? Yeah Iāll work on that for next time alright. For the sake of people like me, you ought to be wrong
well then your vex career is over. itās terribly unfortunate, and I can understand how much having your last season decapitated by a stupid virus really sucks, but its for the safety of everyone attending worlds, and even more so, everyone that those people will come in contact with, that worlds cannot occur. I wish it werenāt so, but it is.
Iām sorry to hear that cole, but at least you know we have your sticker on our trophy.
Taran this does not matter to me Iād be willing to break and bend some laws to get a chance to compete at Vex Worlds 2020.
