Vex worlds required uniforms?

My team is currently planning logistics for going to worlds for the first time and our teacher sponsor said that in past years it was required for teams to have matching collared shirts but I can not find any information on this. Is there any requirement for this? Thanks

no. there is no requirement, though if you want to look professional and have fun with worlds it’s encouraged that you make uniforms

This has never been the case. If you look back at youtube videos from worlds matches, you can see that teams wear whatever they want.

It might be required by your organization, but if it’s not in the game manual, it’s not a competition requirement. Nevertheless, many teams have some sort of uniform.

What teams will probably want as dress code is to seem part of same group… What that looks like differs from team to team.

but good to have comfy shoes that you will be running around all day for three days…

Shirts - tops - make sure team # somewhere (even better have team # - letter - team name- organization name - town/city, state, country …

Colors for shirts - reflect organization colors (ours maroon / gold… never had golds (yet) )…

Sometimes sponsors - but walking advert might not be great in long run - put sponsor logo on robots and pits… but you want team to wear shirts - sweatshirts (well NE) year round…

pants / shorts choices to not clash top…

…

in the end, your team should be themselves! project what is important to the team. Sometimes this appears goofy - capes, hats, etc

Be expressive, be yourselves … celebrate and stand out.

My fondest recollection of Worlds is how amazingly visually distinct teams are.

This extend to pit area decorations.

so no dress code for all at Worlds - this is not the 1984 Mac Super Bowl commercial where everyone conforms and wears grey lifeless uniforms.

well be sure your district will not get mad and you do not violate any local ordinances …

Worlds is meant to be fun and exciting. If you want to all be fancy dressed then go ahead! But in the end what matters most is if you have fun. You don’t have to be fancy. In fact, a large number of teams would dress up. That’s what makes it fun and exciting, and wearing goofy clothing can liven up events too. You do what you believe makes you and your team happiest, but it’s best to keep clothing styles consistent unless you have a mascot.

If only it was three days, more like twelve for many of us.

and will Grant Cox green hair spike last 12 days?

There is a hairdresser on staff to keep the hair in perfect condition across the days. Fun fact is that he has to sleep upright to keep the spikes from being crushed by pillows. The things he goes through for us is amazing.
