VexCode IQ blocks - saving files on Google Drive from IPad

When I try to either open or save a file from the VexCode IQ block app on my Ipad, I can see the folders and files but they are grayed out. I cannot open or save a file on Google Drive.
I have no issue to open save a file on the iPad itself.
Is there anything that needs to be done on the iPad to give the VexCode app access to the Google Drive files?
