VEXnet 2.0 Connection issues

Having similar issues to what others are reporting here about the new keys.

I am running robotC 4.26 on several different computers. I have downloaded the VEXnet 2.0 radio firmware utility and all keys are current.

When I try to run the Vex Upgrade Utility it tells me the following : “Error: Another instance of the Vex Upgrade Utility is running. You must use the Task Manager to shut it down.” It tells me this after a reboot even.

In fact I see nothing under the task manager related to vex running until I start the upgrade utility.

On a laptop I try the same thing and I get an error “Component ‘MSCOMCTL.OCX’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid”

The cortex’s and joysticks we have all pair when wired and will pair wirelessly with the old black keys and even the first few pairs of 2.0 keys we bought. It seems like the most recent 6 keys that we got last week are the ones having the issue.

Please advise, I really want things to get working again so my class can continue with its progress.

Thanks

NumberCrow,

On the VEXnet Upgrade Utility issue, have you tried a right-click on the icon and selecting “Run as Administrator”
If is continues to fail, please re-install it per the instructions on this post.

Let me know your results.
Regards.

Did as you instructed and once I got the VexNet Firmware upgrade utility to work then I was able to update the firmware in cortexs and joysticks and they all seem to be working now.

Thanks for your help.

NumberCrow,

Glad I was able to help.
Regards.
