Volunteers Needed- Mid-Atlantic VEX Championship

Calling all Volunteers!
The Planning Committee for the Mid-Atlantic VEX Championship (MAVC) is now collecting names for people interested in volunteering for the event. The MAVC will be held February 26 and 27 at the Carroll County Ag Center, in Westminster, Maryland. Up to 150 teams from the Mid-Atlantic Region, and beyond, will be attending the event, so we will need a large group of volunteers. In addition, we will need volunteers during the setup days, February 24 and 25.
If you are interested in supporting this event, please send an email to [email protected]. Please indicate the dates of availability, and let us know if you have a preferred role or roles. There is a list of volunteer roles on the event website (www.midatlanticvex.org) under the “Volunteers” tab.

OMGG
150+ TEAMS?!?!
it is going to be INSANE ^^
(btw how many qualifyer matches to each team still get?)

The tentative schedule for the two days, with three divisions of 50 teams each division, will give every team 9 qualification matches. Then the top 24 teams of each division will go into division elimination matches. So many teams will have plenty of time on the field. We obviously need many volunteers to make this event run smoothly, including some who are very experienced with keeping things moving around the fields. Visit the website at: www.midatlanticvex.org for more details.

How do you plan to handle having 3 divisions? The Tournament Manager software only supports 1, 2, or 4 divisions. This is done mainly because of the problem that arises with 3 divisions which is that one of the divisions gets a bye into the event finals, while the other 2 divisions have to play an event semifinal round. There is really no fair way to determine which division should get that bye, and obviously that’s a huge advantage to go straight to the finals.

One of the divisions is planned to be Middle School only. We have a large number of MS teams in this area. We wouldn’t throw them in with the HS division winners unless the MS champion alliance decided on their own that they wanted to try taking on the HS Champion alliance for bragging rights.

Ah, I see. I saw your website said two HS divisions but incorrectly assumed that was out of date.

So really you’re treating it like to separate events, a 100 team, 2-division tournament for HS and a 50ish team, single division MS tournament.
