Hello, I’ve got a question that I can’t seem to find a straight answer to. What is the age limit for VRC?
I.e, if I was born in July 04’ , how many Vex Seasons have I got left before I have to resort to the college level?
Thanks

here is the relevant definition in the manual:
Student - A person is considered a Student if he or she meets both of the following criteria: 1. Anyone who is earning or has earned credit toward a high school diploma, certificate or other equivalent during the six (6) months preceding the VEX Robotics World Championship. Courses earning
credits leading up to high school would satisfy this requirement. 2. Anyone born after May 1, 2002 (i.e. who will be 19 or younger at VEX Worlds 2022). Eligibility may
also be granted based on a disability that has delayed education by at least one year.
• Middle School Student - A Student born after May 1, 2006 (i.e. who will be 15 or younger at VEX
Worlds 2022). A Middle School Student may “play up” and compete as a High School Student.
• High School Student - Any eligible Student that is not a Middle School Student.
As a rule of thumb, you can continue doing vrc until you graduate high school, unless you’re a year or more older than what is normal for your grade.
So to answer your question, you have this and the next season left to participate in vrc, as long as you’re attending school in some form.
That’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t entirely confident. Thanks!
Keep the first criterion in mind too:
- Anyone who is earning or has earned credit toward a high school diploma, certificate or other equivalent during the six (6) months preceding the VEX Robotics World Championship. Courses earning credits leading up to high school would satisfy this requirement.
Most people in the US graduate from high school in the late spring at 17 or 18 years old, so will fail to meet the definition of student due to #1 before they fail to meet it due to #2.
E.g., if you just finished or are about to finish high school, then you’re not a student for the purposes of VRC Tipping Point even though you may well have been born after 5/1/2002.
I’m homeschooled, so finishing high school would likely not be an issue, since the graduation date would be much more lax.
