Hope that your new year is off to a great start!
Just a reminder that registration for Washington DC Regional will close in about 10 days.
This year we will host a separate MS tournament. Because this event was added later, it is not adjacent to the HS listing on Robot Events (it is actually on a second page about ten events later–I even have trouble finding it.)
In order to accommodate the MS tournament, we will move from the space used last season into a more typical gym format.
But the location is the same: Just inside the Washington DC beltway, less than five miles from the MD and DC borders (near Tysons Corner).
Both tournaments are designated as a Level 4, meaning that they will qualify teams for the National and World Championships depending upon the total number of teams registered:
16 Teams - Excellence Award
24 Teams - Tournament Champions (2 team alliances)
32 Teams - Tournament Champions (3 team alliances)
42 Teams - Design Award
Currently there are 38 HS teams and 17 MS teams registered. If you plan on attending, please register soon. It will make planning much simpler.
We have tried to keep registration fees minimal, but please contact me if cost is an issue.
Lunch and refreshments will be available.
