Washington Jumpstart: Photos and Video

Thanks to the team at Mariner High School in Everett for kicking off the Sack Attack season in the Pacific Southwest in fabulous style.

It was exciting to see many new teams making their way into the top ten qualifiers. The new teams have their work cut out for them, however… consider that you’ve worked hard all tournament and managed to form the #8 alliance, and find that your opponents are these guys and gals:

Ouch. Nothing like having to play against **both **2011 **and **2012 world champions in your first elimination round, eh? The #7 alliance had it a bit easier… they only had to go against world finalists from Gladstone’s Robosavages and the Exothermics. In the top three alliances there were two world champions, two world finalists, and a handful of VRC worlds award winners and divisional alliance captains. Recognize any of the names playing the final round?

Here’s some links to photos from the event and videos of some of the final and semi-final rounds. If you have posted media from this event, please feel free to add your links to this thread. It will help inspire more teams, and raise the level of competition for everyone!

Videos are posted to my dtengineering channel.

And photos (almost 200 of them… if you were at the event, you’re likely in there – somewhere!) are on photobucket. You should be able to download them directly from photobucket, or view them as a slideshow.

Just a reminder that there will be two tournaments in B.C. in the upcoming weeks. Visit the Pacific Youth Robotics Society website for details.

Wow, looks like it was a great tournament! Looks like some pretty high scores too. Looks like there was also some very good skills scores.

Team 10B, a World Championship Finalist in 2012, only made it to semifinals…

Don’t worry Mr. Tyler, we got this!
It might take a few months though… (we’ve never won Jumpstart, anyway).

I don’t think any EXO team has ever been in the winning alliance at any Jumpstart event. EXO doesn’t seem to be able to win tournaments in the state of Washington before Christmas.

Congratulations to the teams and the new event partner at Mariner High School. I thought it was a great event.
