We are having trouble with the catapult in the Swish hero bot for the 2024-2025 game

After we first finished and programed the Swish robot, the catapult worked great. Later, the catapult wasn’t working. It wouldn’t pop up with enough force to throw the ball. Could you help us?

Are sure you didn’t change anything on the robot? Also, please show some pictures of the launching mechanism so we can diagnose the issue

Are you sure the rope is on the spool? sometimes, it gets caught on the gear or something and will not fire.

Does the orientation of the ratchet on your robot match the correct orientation shown in the instructions? It’s difficult to tell based on the angle of your photo, but it looks like your robot might’ve been assembled with the ratchet flipped around in the wrong orientation.

What do you mean by the ratchet? Sorry. Please specify.

The ratchet is the green gear-like piece the red arroow is pointing to.

Based on what I see BananaPi is right. The ratchet (green gear with one-way teeth) on the robot is facing the wrong direction. In the photo the flat side of the ratchet teeth is facing away, it should be facing forward.

Ok, I have done that. I flipped the green ratchet the other way. That was the only change I made. The catapult is still not working. I will try to send pictures as soon as I can. The only difference now is that the robot now makes a ticking sound when trying to throw the ball. Can you help?

I am also having trouble. We are using a point with a bar spinning the fling. How can you increase torque? We are using a motor group to spin it.

Hoping on here because we are also having trouble. When the string goes around the spool, it was too slippery so we make the string go around the shaft, but one issue we see is that the string is rubbing against the blue gear so this is not ideal long term, just don’t know how to fix so it will spool and stay on the spool. It was firing ok, not able to fire strong enough to make a goal but able to clear a switch. Our ratchet was backwards also, so we turned that around, then the catapult wouldn’t stay in the down position, it just would come back up. We tried turing the ratchet back around backwards, now it pulls down but it won’t launch. Hoping to see other ideas on how to manage the catapult issues, we seem to be having them all.

Can you send your code have you tried reverse different motors or adding a new motor

Our launcher is not working and when we when we do it with the engine, it always works, but when we do it with the remote, it doesn’t work and even our driving is not working and also sometimes when we’re pulling it down with the battery on devices the part that connected to the string, it will pop off. Is there any way to fix that?

By engine do you mean motor?
We can’t help you without pictures of the robot, the code and a bit more thorough description of the problem

Our launcher is not working. - Ok, we are working with the Swish launcher

and when we when we do it with the engine, it always works - Do you mean with a motor? How are you controlling the motor?

but when we do it with the remote, it doesn’t work - does the motor turn the little blue drum?

and even our driving is not working do any of the motors work with the remote? Is it possible your remote control is not paired up with the brain? Do you have the motors plugged into the right ports. When you plugged them in did you hear the click on both the brain and motor ends? The click means it’s plugged in.

and also sometimes when we’re pulling it down with the battery on devices Are you trying to say "when we try using the motors on the device screen?

the part that connected to the string, it will pop off. Use a longer string. The end on the spool should have the axle through it. Make sure there are a few turns around the spool so it never pulls on the connector.

is there any way to fix that? Sure

Can you please try to use short sentences, rather that the stream of consciousness style. That was an amazing run on sentence. Thanks

In the motor when we turn it with the remote, it will not spin so is there it only goes back-and-forth is there anyway to fix that? Thank you.

In code rotate one of the motor in the motor group
