We're need help-New Team

Hello everyone, my team is new in the robotics, we’re from Mexico, and this week we starts the builds,
we have no experience , we have seen some videos and have the following ideas, use a slip gear or choo -choo catapult but we have no idea how to assemble them , although we have already seen videos …
we could give advice to a new team ?
Thank you very much to all and good luck this season, sorry for my English .

I would love to help, here are some instructions on how to build a vex claw bot (the most basic robot).
(and you’re English is fine bud)

I would also suggest you play around with the Vex products before you build a robot. Here is a page on basics on engineering on what to do and what not to do. There are several units on engineering on the page I gave you. (Look on the right side of the page to go to the next unit.)

Start with the central component of your robot: the drive train. It’s simple if you do a direct drive, and it will acquaint you with the basic functions and assembly of VEX parts. After that, when you have game pieces in, prototype intakes: after all, you need to be able to get pieces into your shooter, or your shooter won’t be helpful! Then, finally, arguably the most challenging component, the shooter. By now, you’ll have more experienced with the VEX components, and this will be a lot easier. Lastly, if you’re feeling up for a challenge, and you get your other mechanisms done, you could always try hanging. Feel free to ask me any more specific questions, either here or via PM.

These threads may have some answers to your question:

Where should I, a beginner begin?

New to robotics - please help

The search bar is in the upper right corner of the page. If you search for “rookie” or something similar, you’ll get lots of (hopefully) helpful posts.
