What can I improve on my sense different robots velocity code?

My team had to complete a class challenge. It was to find the velocity of another robot. We used a distance sensor and found out that generation 2 of vex iq had a block of code to detect the velocity of another object and made it print the velocity constantly in feet on the brain . What is some feedback that we can use to improve our code or robot to complete this challenge efficiently.
