What distance should our standoffs be in our lift mech

We are building a lift mechanism for our robot (similar to many other teams) however we are curious what the ideal distance between standoff groupings is. Thanks!

By lift mechanism do you mean for the rings? It appears as if you are attempting to do a hook style scoring mech. As for the distance(If I’m right about it being a hook style scoring mech) you will want each standoff far enough apart so that the rings can fit on one without hitting another standoff. Aside from that, the distance between each standoff will depend on how big or small the mechanism is, and how many hooks you decide to run. (The number of hooks matters becuase you will want to keep them evenly spaced) Good luck!

Thanks! And yes, this is a hook style lift mech for the rings.

This is clearly a predict, prototype and test situation (there is a popular shorthand expression for this you might know).

Cannot be so close that they interfere with other rings or allow 3 on at a time. Cannot be so far apart that only one at a time ever actually hooks a ring.
