What Division do you think is going to win worlds? (2019)

since we can’t predict each division finalists but we do know who is in each division, i want to know which division you think will win worlds, cause it has got to be one of the 6

off the top of my head i’d put my bets on Math and Research

notatable teams:
Math
574c- i’m from their state, they’re nuts, like
169a
21s
99900a

Research
6842z- i’m from their state, they’re nuts
9922z
9605a
2011c
45464z
177v
929u- :ok_hand: reveal
(a ton more very very good teams)

I’m hurt you didn’t put me on the list for research :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

With the exception of last year, Math has always been a pretty nutty division, and I’ve seen them in World Finals a whole lot.

Research is gonna be insane too. Add 80708X to that list in Research. They’re some of the best VA teams we have, and also insane skills scores.

80708X last year finished 3rd in MS Skills at Worlds. Those guys are gonna be real good.

Math is really stacked with good teams this year. I’m going to be pretty surprised if teams from Math don’t make it to world finals.

Personally, I think the Science Division is pretty stacked. And I’m not just saying that because that’s the division that I am in. There are plenty of really good teams that have done extremely well throughout this season and World Championships in the past.
Just a few of the really good teams include:
7K
169X
574D
1008M
1961U
2131S
6627X
8059X

In addition to these, two of the top 3-4 Florida teams this year (4411S and 7121E) are also in Research. (So is 4100A, who finished 4th at the Night at the Museum Signature Event in Virginia.)

Yeah I watched 7K at the US open, they are so good. Super smooth accurate and fast with flags.

Those guys were so good and that flywheel was so awesome to watch.

I’m going to have a lot of fun watching the matches this year.

;-; I feel personally attacked right now

365X is also in research, generally division strength does not play into who actually wins worlds. For example last year Arts and Science were assumed to be the hardest but Engineering won worlds. Since there are at least 2 amazing teams in every division really any of the 6 could win.

Technology won Worlds last year.

And Arts was one of the toughest divisions for sure, and did result in at least the World HS Finalists.

One of the biggest things is which Chinese teams are good this year. Before Worlds last year I do not think any US teams knew about WoF, but they did extremely well and won Worlds.

We knew about Wings of Freedom by January or so, because they were the World Skills leader for a while (and we were trying to do that, too). They unseated Florida team 34203X as #1 in December, but their score wasn’t posted until January.

If it wasn’t for that, though, I don’t think we would have known about them until they made it to the Round Robin.

That may be true, but I’m just speculating. Chances of each division are about even
