I have a question, I’m semi-new to vex v5 and are confused on what the field comes with when purchased. Does it come with no foam tiles or perimeter, it says they aren’t included and would that mean those would have to be bought separately?
What are you talking about buying? Could you send a link so we can clarify?
Anything you buy should show exactly what you get
If you search for the game elements, and hit that you will only get those for about $600. The field tiles are a one time purchase for $250, same for the field perimeter for $870. You can’t buy them all together in one package. Field elements are bought every year, but the perimeter and field should last you a while.

Looking at the kit contents of a portable field perimeter, it does not say that it includes field tiles (it has cases for them, but doesn’t say it actually includes them).
Therefore, it is safe to assume that the perimeter does not come with foam tiles, and that the tiles must be purchased seperately.
PS. Why is it that buying 2 sets of the 18 tile kit cheaper than buying 1 36 tile kit?

Field perimeter and foam tiles are sold together. Each year the field and game elements are sold separately. You can re-use the perimeter and foam many seasons, but the game elements only one season.

So field game elements, foam tiles, and field perimeter are all separate items.
No, please look at the links to the vex store above. Perimeter comes with tiles. You may later choose to buy a set of tiles if yours get too damaged.

Ahh I see the confusion. It actually says: Note: Field tiles and electronics are not included with the Portable Competition Field Perimeter. However it DOES come with a field tile carrying bag.

This is NOT correct. The field tiles are sold separately from the field perimeter.
The portable field perimeter comes with 2 tile bags, each bag can hold 1/2 of a field (16 tiles).

Wow, ok, thanks for the correction. I guess this is a kind of shrinkflation. When I bought my perimeters, the tiles came with. Kind of weird to ship the bags for the tiles but not the tiles.
