I like your emphasis here on consistency. It is a big thing in VEX that referees always rule consistently, even if they learn halfway through the event that the way they’d been doing it had been wrong. This new rule however seems to demolish the consistency aspect of refereeing, as a very pushy team that points out every time a ring is put under the opponents platform will skew the reffing calls.
