What do you guys think will be the game next year?

If it’s a :droplet: game then people will have to use TONS of water to reset the field :pleading_face::cry::cry::disappointed_relieved: :pensive:

I mean Match loads. My bad

I really want a nbn remake but I doubt they’d do it. It has been a while since a shooting game though so maybe. Once they release the preorders I’ll make my predictions.

High stakes is a shooting game. How else do you expect to get the top ring?

What if they did a capture the flag like game?

Climbing to the third rung then use the wall stake mech or whatever steak meck you have, and just slap the ring on the stake like you want it to be there!

This would be :fire:, heard me out

I’m hoping that whatever it is will make X-Drive viable again…

I agree! That would be awesome!

Yeah……….me too. X drives look really cool tho……

As long as H-drives will also be vialble!

At least SOMEONE understands this game

Elevation Relation. Robots must cooperate to reach a 4 foot platform, and the elevation limit is 3 feet. Robots start as 18 by 18 by 18 inches, as per usual, and they can expand horizontally by 9 inches in all directions, except up. In order to reach the top of the pillar, one robot must lift the other, as the robot may only touch the top of the pillar, and may not climb up or touch the sides. The scoring object is a 6 inch pyramid, 20 red, 20 blue. The alliance to reach the top of the pillar, and place their color pyramid in a hole that perfectly fits 1 triangle inside of, gets a 1.5 times score multiplier. The top triangle may be de-scored, and only the triangle in the hole at the end of the match will count for the multiplier. Other than that, there will be pillars of different heights around the field. By placing pyramid on the pillars will get your alliance a certain amount of points. Placing a pyramid on the 6 inch high pillar will get your team 2 points, placing one on the 1 foot pillar will get you 5 points, while placing one on the 2.5 foot pillar will achieve your team 12 points. In order for a pyramid to be scored, it must have one side fully touching the top of the pillar. Ramming into pillars to force the pyramids off, or swiping them of opponents pillars is legal. The pillars will fit about 3 pyramids on each, and there will be a total of six 6 inch pillars, four 1 foot pillars, two 2.5 foot pillars, and one 4 foot pillar. Pyramids will not be counted towards your score on the 4 foot pillar, unless it is in the pyramid shaped hole. Shooting or forcing pyramids in the up in any way is strictly prohibited. This is a game of co-operation between the alliances, elevation, and defense.

Key points

Elevation limit is 3 feet

The top pillar is 4 feet

Alliances must lift each other to reach the top, as touching pillars sides is prohibited

Scoring object is 6 inch pyramids

Pyramids are red or blue, and there are 40 total

The alliances color pyramid to be in the hole in the top of the top pillar will get a 1.5 times score multiplier

De-scoring in any way is legal, except using a pyramid to de-score another

12 pillars besides the top pillar

Forcing the pyramids up in any way is strictly prohibited

Co-operation and defense is key to winning this game

Best of luck to all competing in the 2025-2026 game, Elevation Relation. Be safe and have fun!

I have my own too:

Drop Out
Polar Pop
Dome Demolition
Stand Tall
Splash Out
Slip n Slide
Jack and Jill
Color Rush
Stretch it out
Backpedal
Snap On

This sounds fun, but i think it would be better if one team had 2 robots like vex U because if you lift your teammate and they dont have scoring, and you dont have scoring because you are the lift bot your toast in that match. If there was a way to score on the ground this would be a great game.

Okay I know everyone likes to have their little jokes and that’s nice and all, but IN ALL SERIOUSNESS I want to make a little “prediction” (if you could call it that). Have a little mercy on me if I get some things wrong, by the way. This was my first year of V5.

People have mentioned the pattern of shooting and stacking games. I’ll keep this in mind in my “prediction.” I will also keep in mind that match loads may also be a thing.

We also have the possibility of another Cortex era remake coming out. If both are true, the only possibility is a Nothing But Net remake. Again, this is if both are true. If they decide to not do a shooting game or a cortex remake then we’re not having a Cortex era remake. But, I would likely enjoy it if they did.

IF THAT HAPPENS:

Here is my Nothing But Net remake… (I put a lot of time into this don’t kill the idea just yet)

Introducing the 2025-2026 game, Free Throw…

Please Excuse the Poor Quality Sketch

Free Throw is played on a 12x12 foot field with two alliances: one red and one blue, two teams per alliance.

The scoring objects for Free Throw are 4" in diameter yellow balls that weight approximately 1 oz (it’s crucial that they are weighed down)

There are two box nets that are 4 feet tall; one for each alliance. The front of the net is 2 feet (so robots can shoot in the net). Inside each net is a rubber bar suspended 3 feet in the air. Any balls that hit the bar will bounce off. The nets are positioned in the center of the opposing alliance’s side. A ball in a net is worth 2 points.

One either side of the square nets are zones that if any balls were to be within the area that it would count 1 point to the opposing team. These are called red/blue ground zones. Robots are not allowed to touch these areas until the last 15 seconds of the match.

There are two loading cylinders that are on the front and back walls of the field. Each alliance has up to 10 balls that they can load in the loading area. They are not protected and any robot may block them at any time.

In the last 15 seconds, robots may touch any ground zones to descore the balls in the area. They can move them to one of their zones, but cannot shoot them into either nets. Teams are also not allowed to use the loading stations after this point.

In the center is a weighing scale: one side for blue and one side for red. Teams may load balls into their side of the scale until it touches the ground. If an alliances side of the scale touches the ground, it makes any balls scored worth twice the points. If neither side touches the ground then all balls regardless of where they are scored are worth 1 point more. Robots cannot put balls in the scale until the last 15 seconds. A robot can descore any balls in the scale.

I’m not actually saying that this is the game that Vex will do. I just felt like making a game that may or may not be like the next game.

That sounds incredible, but it would be a nightmare because imagine how sticky everything would get.

This is actually great wow. This would definitely be cool to see. That scale feels like FRC 2018. Unless I get lucky and go off to worlds I’ll have some project time, might CAD this up to see how it would all work if you’d be okay with that.

I really like this idea. I too am hoping for a Nothing But Net (NBN) remake. I think it would be great for the V5 parts (also, I am doing IQ now and want balls for game elements)

What if Vex is taking game design winners’ ideas and this topic’s ideas to create next year’s game?
