look at round up, high stakes is round up.
do yâall think next year will be like this year where there were 2 movable game elements or will there only be 1 movable game elements like over under?
Iâm sure that the GDC would keep all of what you said in mind (at least letâs hope so) if they do choose a nbn remake. It could see possibly having little place holders for the balls so they donât roll? Or maybe the balls could be placed in tubes that robots have to get out in some way?
I dont really care what the game is, as long as there isnât a horizontal expansion limit. I think it would be really fun to build a wallbot or multibot like there used to be back in the cortex days.
Will the wall hold up against 66-watt drivetrains?
to be honest all I want is a game that is more innovative. Rapid relay is fun but I felt like it couldâve been more innovative; like slapshot.
Ok but there was a team in my region during early season who had a redirect that kind of threw the ring at the wall stake.
Thatâs a good point. The 6 motor drive has definitely changed vex significantly. It probably wouldnt be able to hold up unless you made it with a ton of steel.

I would really enjoy an obstacle based game where instead of manipulating objects the challenge would be to manipulate the bots. For example we have had hanging so your bot could have to pull up then have a fast enough drivetrain to make it through these objects if you failed a section you would get points deducted. You could also have something similar to a two player obby where if a bot could contact a high up switch it would slow the obstacles down. You could even have an obstacle be a water game to prevent from riots

I think that it is going to be something balancing related. Last year people were saying that it could be a game where teams build a tower out of blocks on the field and at some point they try to knock down the tower. But I would very much like dodgeball or some form of maze where you put a camera on the robot and have to retrieve a certain number of object in a set amount of time. The field reset people could randomize the maze each time. I do like the idea of a tiny robot though.
A novel idea and I think itâs cool regarding the randomized maze, though unfortuntaely Iâm not 100% sure if they would actually do something like that. I think the GDC wants at least a few aspects of the game to be predictable. For an example, Full Volume in IQ had randomness in the supply zone, but the blocks outside of that were always put in a certain area.
Definitely loved the balancing in Tipping Over. Never played it, but it looks really cool. Even if youâre not balancing robots, some aspect thatâs about balance (like the weight I proposed in my game âFree Throwâ ) would be really nice.
My idea for a game is VEX V5 âOverpoweredâ where essentially all of the build restrictions are completely thrown out of the window and the only building restrictions are a1. you can only have a single brain or controller and both must be the VEX V5 version. a2. Only official VEX parts(not just VEX V5 any official VEX parts you can get to work). a3. your robot must be able to fit within a 36in x 36in x 36in area. And other than those 3 rules there are no other restrictions on what you can build so you can build basically whatever you want as long as it has no more than 20 motors since thats the most you can plug into a brain. Then the restrictions on what your robot can do durring are match are b1. You cannot harm or otherwise incapacitate any other drive teams, however if the other drive team members were trying to get your robot to harm them or they were harmed due to not following proper safety procedures it does not count as you violating this rule; however in the case of them not following proper safety procedures if you were purposfully trying ot harm them it will still count. b2. You cannot purposely attempt cause yourself or any other persons to be harmed by another teams robot in an attempt to get the robots team to violate rule b1 or to violate b1 while not getting penalized for it; actions that violate this rule include: putting any parts of your body inside the field and subsequently being harmed or causing another teams robot to cause harm to yourself or others; however if this rule is violated but the violation was clearly acidental (like something ricochetting off of your robot unintentionaly) then no infraction will be recorded. b3. You cannot sabotage the other robots before a match, however durring a match your robot is allowed to as long as rule b4 is not violated. b4. during a match your robot is allowed to incapacitate the other robots as long as no severe damage is done. Severe damage is any damage that cannot be undone without the replacement of the damaged component or any damage to electronic components that affects their ability to function(i.e. cutting a wire or damaging the screen on a brain), screws coming off does not count as severe damage unless the screw itself was damaged; your robot is allowed to unplug calbes as long as the calbe is still able to function properly and the rubber layer was not pierced. So other than those rules you can do anything from making a helicopter to a railgun to a helicopter with a railgun.
My bad I was trying to make the thread and when I was waiting for it to be approved it was just disappearing and I didnât know why until after the 3rd time.
the perfect use for original vision sensor wifi!
Fixed that.
I liked the balancing, but I donât like the weird rings. I didnât compete in it, so it may have been good.
What about bananas launched onto a bridge over the field?
Actually, banana shaped game elements would be cool! We havenât had to many odd shaped objects since tipping point or starstruck.
I think a game with throwing eggs could be good. There could be brittle eggs, ones that bounce or eggs with different weights. Some eggs could be poached or hard boiled. The game could be luck based as you can throw the egg as far as you can without it breaking. I would call it Eggcelent Accuracy
