The regular chain is very useful if you design around its limits.
You’ve broken teeth off the 12-tooth steel spur gear? You should let VEX know. The team I volunteer with has been using them since they first came out and have never had one break. They have had two of the high-strength plastic gears lose a tooth when an arm was driven in the wrong direction during testing, but never a steel 12-tooth gear.
