What do you want to do in 2025?

I know it’s a little late, but do you all have any new year’s resolutions (VEX related or otherwise) for 2025?

For my part, i’m hoping my team makes states, and i’d also love to implement lemlib into our coding. the other main VEX thing for me is improve my team’s notebook, and outside of VEX, i want to finish college applications before 2026 (i’m a junior, so this is all starting to stare me in the face).

What about you guys?

Something we want to do for 2025 is completely rebuild our robot, since we recently qualified to states with a hero bot

Do homework earlier and faster
Drink more water
Write longer paragraphs and essays for English and History class
Get 1million score on Arras dot IO (okay im not actually serious)
Get sub-30 second 3x3 average
Create a 3x3 cubesolving method (only if I have time)
Create a conlang (only if I have time)
Start competitive programming (only if I have time)
Stop selling during baseball games

Start working and brainstorming for robotics earlier
Write a better engineering notebook
Better build quality
Better team communication
Onshape CADding
Code PID and Odometry in Python (if I have time, prob not gonna happen)

I wish, my only goal is to win a state award for robotics.

Figure out how to code an APS for IQ using the inertial sensor and drivetrain so I can use my H-Drive in autonomous.

For our team its mostly just figuring out the new programming gadgets and getting auto locked in.
We are trying to take it step by step.
-First Auto and Skills
-Win one of our events and qual for state (although we are trying real hard to get a triple crown, we’ve doubled a few times)
-Win one of the qualify awards and be the first team from our school to get to VEX worlds (we’ve only ever gone to FRC worlds)

Also throw an epic team anniversary
-15 years as a robotics club

  • 10 years in VEX
  • 5 years hosting a VEX comp

We have a pretty solid bot rn. We’ve got 450rpm on 3.25 inch 77w drive, 11w hooks, 2 piston mogo clamp, 2 piston wall stake arm, 1 piston wall stake claw, 1 piston doinker. We can co alliances with our hooks, omni-directional mogo clamp, tier 1 with wall stake arm. Hopefully we start seeing some more programming and we’ll be doing pretty well. In 2025 we might try to add a t3 for state bc of the large amount of end game time now but first we want to qual for stake.

Wow, talk about skills

I would like to make it to States through Skills in our next competition, and win another award this season. Our team would also like to build a lady brown before States.
