I’m embarrassed to ask the question but so far I haven’t found anyone who can answer it. What do the letters EDR actually stand for? :o
The bit that probably throws off your google searching is that its only 2 words rather than 3.
VEX Educational Robotics (EDR)
Thanks. That’s makes perfect sense. In ways only an engineer would dream up.
Does this mean there is a NEdR version, too?
Vex Non-EDucational Robotics???
This would make the most sense. It sounds like a lot of fun. Learning is harddddddddd.
I was originally thinking it was educational design robotics but grammatically that is horrible
Hi Guys,
The “EDR” in VEX EDR doesn’t stand for anything. It is just a trade-name similar to Kleenex or Velcro, or VEX.

That’s hilarious!
Ut-oh… I sense an impromptu unofficial naming contest about to begin :)…
Let’s see…
Erudite… Edifying… Electrifying… Einsteinificating… uh… um…
My guess is that they ran into trademark issues with EDR.
