It was delete by a moderator. This has been occurring a lot lately. #waitsForThisPostToBeDeleted
But what was wrong with it? We weren’t off topic or anything!
I think an admin deleted it. Not really sure why.
I think somebody put it in neutral
Or they stalled
Another thread recently had about 15 posts deleted from it.
Recently I have noticed a substantial amount of posts deleted from threads.
They were actually moved to a new thread: https://vexforum.com/t/re-positioning-during-autonomous/24032/1
Took me forever to figure that out
Edit:
I hadn’t noticed until today but now I see that you’re right. I understand that they want to remove some of the side conversations I guess but it’s just annoying that it’s happening without warning while the conversations are still happening. It feels very soviet.

Actually this thread is what I was referring to [https://vexforum.com/showthread.php?p=335189
Vex New Lift Challenge!
610x post was severely shortened and everything below it was deleted. Yes it may have been off topic… but no warning what so ever](https://vexforum.com/showthread.php?p=335189)
See I don’t like that at all. The forums are for having conversations that can be looked back on. If VEX wants to take information out of these posts and make it more accessible, they should pick and choose the useful stuff and put it in the wiki, leaving the conversations alone.
I also do not like all the posts about accounts not being verified.
I learned from past experience that company run forums are the worst. But don’t worry a community forum has been in the works I can’t share anything else right now.
I don’t understand why people keep getting bashed for having opinions, especially from people who you would think would behave in a more professional manner.
If you make your own forums, please include a wiki too. It’d be nice to have a community one that doesn’t need to be all professional like the vex one.
That’s the nature of the internet. Unfortunately, it takes a lot more effort to sound “nice” on the internet, especially with the lack of emotion in text.
Everyone is really just offering their opinions back and forth, and having an “argument” is the most effective way to do that. At least that’s my interpretation. Most forums are like this.
Wait until you start the forum and deal with spammers I have run several forums in the past as well as some “Buddy Press” communities and stopping spammers is usually at the expense of sometimes weeding out valid accounts. Even our wordpress robotics site gets around 80 different spammers a day making comments that get deleted from moderation.
While I had to post in the support forum to get my sons account approved, it was worthwhile in my opinion to only have to see maybe one spammer a month get into this site.
We are derailing again aren’t we…
A little bit ya
Original question
Why do they keep deleting legit posts by legit vex competitors?
I understand that, however that is not an excuse for marginalizing opinions you don’t like, thats what dictators do.
I don’t know, I have had some deleted that I have wondered about. While it is the moderators right to delete whatever they want it would be nice to get a PM to at least make sure I didn’t cross that line again. The forum is probably the most valuable resource we have as a small inexperienced team and we consider it a privilege to have access to it so we like to stay within the “community standards”.
I know when you use foul language they send you an email about your forum posts.
I wish they did this for posts they delete. Doesn’t have to be lengthy and could just say
Your post was offtopic and has been deleted.
