What is considered "over" the autonomous line?

What would be considered crossing the autonomous line during the 15 second autonomous period at the start of a match? do my WHEELS have to TOUCH the foam tiles on the other side, or is it that ANY PART of my robot even OVER the line, while not contacting the floor, still counts as crossing? Sorry if I worded that very poorly, I can provide pictures if needed.
I appreciate it, and ask if someone can answer asap, as I have to code my auton, and this rule changes what I have to do by a large margin…

The game manual clearly spells this out. Have you checked: V5RC High Stakes Game Manual - VEX Robotics ? If so, what did you search for?

All in the manual. Your two criteria are not the only ones in play.

Yes. It states: “ Don’t cross the Autonomous Line. During the Autonomous Period, Robots may not contact foam tiles, Scoring Objects, or Field Elements which are on the opposing Alliance’s side of the Autonomous Line.” If I have a part that touches a ring on the other side, but my tires are on my side, does that still count as “crossing”?

Depends on the ring. There are more words in the rule.

The main way to violate the rule is to have a wheel touch the foam on the other side of the line.

Having a robot component that projects a long way in front of your front wheel creates more chances to violate the rule. Having extensive motion near the line also creates risk of crossing (and is annoying to referee).

There are even more words in the rules that indicate how you might cross the line and not be penalized. Sounds like you are wanting to get at some neutral objects, and need to read all the rules about the autonomous line closely. You cannot read the summary line or the first sentence and know the whole rule.

You seem obsessed with where your wheels are, which, while important, is not sufficient to know whether your interaction is legal or not. I say this because if you read the rule, the rule makes no specific mention of “wheel” (or “tire”), it specifies “Robot”. Can you think of a way where a robot with all wheels on its side of the line could still be in violation of this rule?
