Instead of being gray black and red they are now grey, light grey and black.
To my knowledge there is no new color scheme, do you mean the v5 beta components (which are not legal for competition)?
No, we just got 2 brand new brains and they have light grey instead of white there, they work with the old controllers tho.
picture of the new brain next to old one?
Can confirm there is a difference, and I think this allows to more new v5 electronics too. No idea what’s up but we noticed this too after our old red brain fried too many ports.
This update was mostly driven by the desire to make the pad printing on all of the V5 products easier to read, especially for those that are visually impaired. White has a much higher contrast, and thus is easier to read, on top of grey than the previous darker red did.
It is purely a cosmetic update. You’ll start to see this rolled out across all V5 devices in a rolling change. Most likely to be seen in individual component sales first, and eventually across kit purchases as well.
I have to say, I liked the beta color scheme the best -solid contrast -easier to read.
Yea, at Wisconsin state there were a couple teams that had the brand new v5 batteries and brains, I wish our mentor would let us use our new brains tho bc our brain only has 7 perfectly working ports
