What is the best outcomes you had during the competition?

We all have those moments during the competition, when the lights of heaven shine down on your robot and you have the best conclusions to a match. Or you get so overtaken at the end of the match that it leaves you in shock.
I would love to hear your stories when tables turned during your match. And I don’t mean to make this exclusively for Tower Takeover, I want to hear all the juiciest conclusions you had during the competitions.
Please give details about it too.

Not really best outcome but…

So this happened at my last competition, for frame of reference, our robot was having various issues the entire competition. We got into the bracket as 8th seed of 8, so naturally we had to go against 1st seed, the match starts, and everything is “normal” our alliance wins autonomous, and I start thinking that the upset might happen. Our partner gets a rainbow 6 stack, then we look over notice the other alliance just about to stack a 3 orange 2 purple tower. They win the cup battles and have 2 orange 1 purple in cups, so I scramble to grab 3 orange cubes which would put our point total above theirs, and when I go to stack them I realize that our partners put their tower right in the center of the protected scoring zone, so to score game winning stack, I had to push their tower and stack mine in ~10 seconds. I tried to just stack my tower and it balanced on the rim of the scoring zone, ~5 more seconds, I push the tower and say a prayer… and it all fell down. Sad it fell, but am glad we put up a fight that match.

TLDR: My game winning tower didn’t have enough room to be placed, and I knocked over the tower blocking in a last ditch effort to win.

Edit: Opposing alliance also had a big tower in protected zone, can’t remember what it consisted of color-wise though.

  1. I was second seed in a tournament despite not actually having that great of a robot.
  2. I won a match in the last 5 seconds by quickly ramming a green cube into the scoring zone, allowing us to win by just one point

At one tournament, in qualifs, we were facing 2 tray bots with ourselves (tray) and a traybot. We failed to get our foldin to work, so we were DQ’ed for size. And then our alliance had an intake chain break first 5 seconds of the match. Needless to say, it was not a good day.

Your defense that match was definitely a nice change of pace after playing against little/no defense (I’m not saying it wasn’t tilting), and ideally that stack would’ve already been scored in auton. Hopefully we’ll be better prepared for the next time someone plays hard defense against us.

Well, it was a nice change of pace until you got us entangled for about a minute  (timestamp is at 7:12:30 if the link doesn’t start there for some reason)

When you realize that your robot touching a placed cube still counts and you win.

I dont think that its legal if the robot being pushed was touching the goal zone. Its somewhere in the manual that that’s not allowed.

Last year in tower takeover my entire team were new and didn’t know how to do anything. Our auton hit 1 flag. Our upper chassis was the bottom of a ball intake. We somehow got carried into first place for the whole qualifiers.
