What is the most frustrating thing that has happened to you?

Everyone at our state competition last year had their robots overheat because we did an outside competition during the summer in a desert. Our team did terrible because all the plastic and the motors were breaking and nothing was working as they did before we got there.

This is simultaneously the funniest and saddest thing I have ever heard

:pensive:

I bet that will change once I get into collage :man_shrugging:

I honestly have no clue how college students drink coffee like liquid candy. Every time I drink caffeine I get all shaky and it makes focusing much harder than just being tired. For me, I find myself doing much better with cold water, but a better alternative is drinking room temperature water to hydrate yourself but not put your body in shock from the sudden cold temperature

I do agree that hydrating and drinking water is the way to go. Its oddly revitalizing. I personally like sparkling water, which for me is water with a little tingle that’s very awaking.

plz don’t hate on my sparkling water

We almost beat the 1st seeded alliance as the 5th seed while our partner downloaded the wrong code that caused the, to lose their stacking capabilities (tilter would not work).
(BTW it would have been our first Tim qualifying for worlds had we won the match- same with our partners).

It was my first year in vex and I had sparkling water. I didn’t put the cap on all the way, dropped it, and it got all over me and the table. Next thing I know, everyone on my team was rushing to the concession stands to get a bunch of napkins.

My observation of younger people drinking coffee is about 20 packs of those little flavored sweeteners, and maybe half a cup of coffee mixed in! I expect it probably tastes like melted coffee ice cream at that point.

So my robotics room actually has 2 rooms, because it used to be the audio-video rooms (now it is 2 rooms with a woodshop connected). One of the rooms is strictly for veterans (returning people), and the other is for rookies (new people). We ended up having to end our classroom competitions early because there were no charged batteries left, since the rookies never plugged in their dead batteries, they would just leave them on their stations and go get a new battery. My partner then did a sweep of the rookie room and pulled out 10+ dead batteries. Very irksome.

This is why the rookie teams never win many games. They never think to fix something that is easily fixable. (Or in this case, plug in something when it needs to be, causing everyone to suffer)

Robotics is worth it

I keep overthinking my designs, over complicating every detail, losing motivation when it doesn’t work, re-doing everything, starting over completely. And then I think that my original idea was so much better and wish I were doing that.
The worst part is, I love robotics anyways :stuck_out_tongue:

forgetting to turn on the pneumatic switch, causing the auton not to work at all and turning us into a push bot for that match
