Title explains it all, I need weight on my robot and would like to know what object is the best
Shaft collars en masse
Stacks of high strength shafts work pretty well
- Grab a lot of 5 wide plates (not C-Channels) and stack them on top of each other and screw them together. This is likely the easiest and most compact way to add weight.
- High Strength Axles
- Steel linear slide
Since black holes are not vex legal, I would go with 1" standoff filled with quark matter and sealed by two small screws on the sides.
Whatever you do, don’t do what one of our teams did a while back. Don’t attach base plates for counterweight.
I agree. But the team I knew who added 5 wide plates had them literally everywhere on the bottom of their robot last season. I couldn’t really complain because they made semi-finals in their division at worlds.
as a builder I have to ask what you want the weight to do like is it a counter weight so your robot doesnt fall over or is it a counter weight for like a pulley
or is it just to weigh your bot down so its not easily pushed
I would like it so the robot stops tipping, I do have anti tips but I just want the front to be a bit heavier
I feel like nylocks en masse are pretty heavy.
Steel steel steel
That’s what ive done and its working great
Logan has steel 1x5 walls (of c-channel) going all over his robot
shhhh i leak pictures
its about 30 pounds so steel works good
my question is…why
heheheheeee i have major tipping issues so its fun… but… if youd like i can pm you pictures of whole bot
no no its fine just i would’ve stacked plates together and called it a day
and 30 pounds is quite a bit
30 pounds all together not 30 pounds extra weight
its also really hard to play defense against me so
well duh you weigh 30 pounds so moving you isnt an option
