What to do if coach can't come

Hi all - this is my first forum post, so apologies if I’m completely failing at following the rules, or if my attempts to search for the answer to this question have been woefully inadequate.

Anyway, there’s a competition coming up where our teacher/coach won’t be available to come. Will we still be able to compete? If not, are there workarounds, like having another adult act as a substitute?

Thanks in advance!

This weekend we went to a skills challenge with our astronomy teacher because both are coaches were with our elementary teams (our school is 5-8). So I think you just need an adult to check in and you should be fine

I’ve been to multiple tournaments with parents standing in as pseudo-coaches, so it should be fine.

Thanks a lot!

As long as you have a mentor or adult to sign you in and sign the safety form.

You don’t need a coach when going up to the field. I went up solo as a driver before.

It’s suggested that you do have another person up with you, though.

Kyle went to worlds without an a teacher.

Was just 1 kid solo traveling and competing.

As long as appropriate forms are filled out you don’t need a mentor.
