Wheel Traction

I was thinking of rebuilding my drivetrain, to allow it to have more grip, however I wanted a drivetrain which was solid, and had a turning centre. Which wheel has the most grip?:

  • 4" Omnis
  • 3.25" Omnis
  • 4" High Traction tire
  • 3.25" Traction wheel
  • Mecanum wheel

And what’s the most optimal way of delivering power?:

  • Chain
  • Gears
  • No power delivery for undriven wheels
  • Other

3.25 inch traction wheels give insane grip, however they have a lot of turning scrub, so you’ll need a small wheelbase or some other smart method of turning.
Chains would be best if you want your center of turning to be in the middle of your bot, other wise leaving some wheels unpowered will work fine.

I use 3.25" Omnis on the front and back of my drive and 3.25" Tractions in the middle to prevent sideways pushing and to take load off the front and back wheels which makes turning easier.
Each side is chained together.

Also now that I think about it, Wheel Legs ls probably have the most traction of all the wheels although I personally wouldn’t recommend using them on your drive.
