I used to have an RECF account where all my certifications were shown as PDFs. I also linked all those proudly to my LinkedIn account and they would get an ID and link back to said PDFs. Now I can’t find any place where those are mentioned and the old links simply point to an error page on pd.vex.com. So all the old certificates are gone and the new ones are not available for public display (I see now you provide an email address and they just send you some email)?
For this season, you’re correct that self-serve and archived certificates and badges are not available. The RECF volunteer certifications have certificates, and those are emailed in batches approximately once per week. To my knowledge, the VEX courses no longer offer certificates or badges. The RECF is hoping to move to a new system for the 2024-25 season courses that will once again provide self-serve and archived certificates and badges, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused by the temporary system this season.
This is incorrect information. VEX certificates are now part of the PD+ system, which is free for the introductory certification courses. The older certifications.vex.com system has now become the free tier of PD+.
Previously earned VEX certifications have moved to the new PD+ system, but any REC-oriented certifications are no longer available as they have moved to a separate method of offering certifications.
The certificates being sent this year don’t even have your name on them, just a blank line where you can write it in.
Huh. So how would one know whether said certificate is authentic and belongs to a certain individual or it was just a blank downloaded from the “dark web” (all hypothetical of course, nobody would do something like that). Sorry not being difficult and negative just trying to understand how the system works as now it is mandatory to have certified people at events.
Thanks for the updated info, and sorry for my mistake! Great to hear that certificates are still available for the education courses!
Certificate doesn’t really matter. Even if they filled in the name it could easily be edited. If you run an event with an uncertified head ref I assume your event results can get thrown out. I know you can’t register an event without being a certified event partner. Maybe there is some validation when they enter who the head ref is for the event.
The Head Referee and Judge Advisor must be entered in RobotEvents by the EP for RECF to review at least two weeks prior to event.
