I can’t open your pictures; you have to wait until they are completely uploaded and then post it (thanks though for trying!)
Also, us forumers have been making a few posts on motorized wings already. Try continuing the discussion under one of them to avoid forum clutter.

Your pictures for some reason aren’t loading but there are a bunch of forums in the recent weeks about motor controlled wings you can look into.

Hi thanks for the replys yes ive seen those and i know how to make them, i just have no idea where to put them on here.

Uhhhhh, no offense, but that bot’s kinda cursed.
First of all, I would ignore the wings and focus on bracing your drivetrain and make it worlds-worthy. A reliable drivetrain is more important than having wings and launchers combined. After that, build a reliable intake, then focus on wings. Don’t try to build a shooter, much less an elevated one, before you have a worlds-worthy drivetrain, intake, and wings in that order.

  1. Use bearing flats
  2. Don’t be afraid to cut shafts to length, having them stick out will invite rammers to “accidentally” ram off a wheel
  3. Use at least 55w of motors on your drivetrain.
  4. What is this motor for?

  5. Move these two mechs towards the center of your robot
  6. Extend the drivetrain c-channels past your front and back wheels by 3 holes at least if possible.

But to answer your question, I would put them on the front corners of your robot. If they’re horizontal wings, put them on the outermost c-channel on each corner. If they’re vertical, I’d mount them here: somewhere

Right so number 1 i dont have bearing flats also find i dont need them
2. Yes im going to cut the shafts but want to insure everything is ready first.
3. I only ever use 2 motor driverrain many reasons was on another theead a while back.
4. Ignore that that was for somthing i had on before ive removed it now.
5. If i move it forward the mech doesent work properly.
6. If i do that i carnt get over the middle black bar.
7. I carnt add them at the front because the tribal launches through that area see below photo.
Also im not building an intake as thats not what i want my bot to do.
The drivetrain works fine what makes you think it doesn’t.
Many thanks

Oops forgot the photo

Just surfing through your last message you might want to consider an intake. If you can figure out wings then you don’t need one but if you don’t its a must if you want to be competitive

Another thing I just realized is that you have a 2 motor drivetrain. I would REALLY suggest at least a 4 motor. Some teams are using 8 motor drivetrains this year (What I’m saying is that drivetrain power is super important)

I know about the power but 2 is plenty it drives fine.

If you’re using this for VRC, imagine your 2 motor drive like a human running while the other 6 motor drives as stampeding buffalo. You ain’t gonna win
If you’re doing skills, 2 motor drives are fine as long as they don’t overheat (seeing as those motors are direct drive)

I would not say plenty. Its ultimately your choice but to be even semi competitive 4 is the minimum. What are you using the other 6 motors for?

I might look into adding 2 more motors i guess

You need bearing flats to prevent friction and they hep your robot to run smoother also I have a two motor drivetrain and i find it’s pretty competitive

Thank you for agreeing with me on 2 motor drivetrain.

Please don’t use a 2 motor drivetrain if you want to be even a little competitive. At the very least, you should be using a 44W drive. You wouldn’t even need wings because your 22W drivetrain would overheat before you could even push the triballs into the goal.

Also, this:

Is objectively incorrect. I’m surprised your robot even drives tbh, that much friction with just 2 motors is either really slow or doesn’t drive at all.

Also this isn’t discord, use spell check

Ok belevie it or not that was spell checked by googles ai bard. The robots actully very fast and it weighs alot more then 4 motor drivetrains and it does fine. There isint that much friction.

Then you should probably get a new spellchecker.

For instance, in this post that consists of two lines, I can simply use Grammarly, it takes less than 10 seconds, and your post instantly looks like this:

Ok, believe it or not, that was spell-checked by Google’s Ai Bard. The robot’s actually very fast and it weighs a lot more than 4 motor drivetrains and it does fine. There isn’t that much friction.

It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s better than the original by a mile for minimal effort.

Have you attempted to drive your robot for over a minute? Also, what carts are those drivetrain motors on?

Your welcome
also first fourm post of the year

Ours is a 6 motor (soon to be 7 motor with PTO) on 450 RPM we are the fastest and most powerful bot in our region
