Which upgrade would you rather have first?
As in wheel kit I mean Omni-wheels, they are a life saver
We will include Omni-wheel as part of the wheel kit.
Id rather have the tank treads because i have no use for the chains at the current time, and also, every so often the links will break on the chains and you have to geese it often, and it gets very messy after a while. And the starter kit already comes with gears and wheels.
I’d like to have the sprocket and chain kit so I could expand the square bot with some crazy gear ratios.
i want the gear kit because i dont have it yet
I would want a weel kit because the starter kit only comes with 4 small whells and 2 of, each, medium and large wheels. I have carpet in my house, I HAD to get the wheel kit or the robot, squarebot, would jam on the floor!
I think the tank treads are the best because they can be used in so many different ways, as actual tank treads or as intake rollers.
It would be nice to include more of those cog wheels in the tank tread kits
.
but if the wheel kit included bigger wheels than what we have now the vex
.
would come farther off the ground and less dragging or snagging with metal parts and wires
Soon I will have all 4 options. I now have the wheel kit and the gear kit. The tank tread and chain kit are coming. will eventually will have the programer.
The one item that really brings the kit to a new level is the programming kit. I wish it had been an option because with it you can do many things.
I agree. I also knew that it would most likely be the top answer.
I would want the gear or wheel kit to make better robots. The starter kits selection is rather small.
but it is fun:D
i have to say, since tank treads are the easiest form of movement for vex, thats why i voted for them.
Although all the add ons are cool…I think vex should have a starter kit and a master kit ie( with starter kit, batteries, programmer, extra wheels, gears, and hardware, +several extra sensors)
Just my $000000000000000000000000000000000000.02

metal kit then motor and gear
now that it’s already out, the advanced gear kit would be my choice. worm gears allow high reduction (and save a lot of 60 tooth gears), and bevel gears allow differential drivetrains. advanced gear kit is a must have (and it’s only 20 bucks).
if advanced gear kit was included in the gear kit choice, i would choose that. extra gears are important for designing shiftable drivetrains.
i got a chain kit with my starter kit, but i didn’t use it that much. i haven’t gotten tank treads, though. Omni directional wheels are lifesavers though.
